π Good communication is key to an effective massage. The client needs to feel safe, relaxed and in control for their body to trigger it's amazing healing potential π

πͺDISTINCTION! π₯³
I knew I'd passed a couple of weeks ago but my certificates arrived yesterday and it turns out I nailed it. I was a little concerned that my practical exam hadn't gone so well. I managed to make an almighty crash with massage table's wheel lock mechanism half way through and saw the examiner make an immediate mark on her clipboard π¬ Ultimately she must have only found it endearing π
When you book with me for sports related issues, know that you are booking with a very distinct(?) massage therapist.

This is my favourite time of year. The autumn colours start gently replacing the last of the summer flowers. I love warm days and chilly nights. The earth just feels like it's settling down somehow. I am an October baby.
Below are some of the lovely reds, oranges and yellows (and the occasional purple hanging on in there) you might walk past on the way into my studio.

Priority #οΈβ£1οΈβ£ for me it to make sure you are relaxed when you come into the studio. The more relaxed you are, the better your muscles, mind and nervous system will respond to the treatment.
π I will always give you a warm welcome
π I will make sure I have explained what will happen in the treatment and that you have consented to it
π I will check in with you about pressure or signs of discomfort and respond to any cues you give (either verbal or through your body)
π A key sign that I listen out for is to hear your belly gurgle after the massage has begun. This suggests that the parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system has begun to activate and you are able to relax and have a great session!

Great to be back at Tenet Search with my chair last week, providing 30-minute massages to their busy team.
Focusing on employee well-being with a monthly massage is a cost effective way to help raise morale, minimises time off to illness and boosts productivity.
It's also a great incentive to get people into the office in a hybrid working environment.
Get in touch if you'd like to talk about options for your organisation.

Great to be back at this week. Providing pre- and post-run massages for the time.
Running is a passion of mine. I love working with runners and being part of their journey to maintain and improve their health, wellbeing and running goals.

Now I am on my way to becoming a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, I am able, with permission, to utilise some guided techniques during your massage to help regulate the nervous system and discharge emotionally held tension in the body π¬

πβΊοΈ Nothing like new face towels to maximise the comfort of your next massage ππ»ββοΈππΌββοΈ

As the weather remains gloomy, I thought I'd give you a little reminder of what summer looks like from my lovely garden πΌπΈπΊπ»
I am trying to strike a balance this year between keeping it as wild as possible for the wildlife while still keeping an element of English garden tidiness. π³π±πΏ
Thinking back to the mini heat wave a couple of weeks ago, I loved sitting out there on the long evenings once it got cooler, in the company of an abundance of bees (especially round the purple flowers). I hope you can say hi to a couple on your way into your next appointment! ππππ

Regular massage for maintenance can have a real positive impact on mobility. Allowing you to stay active without injury and helping create a positive cycle for your physical and emotional wellbeing!

I was on and today providing self-massage workshops for this morning and this afternoon as part of their programmes for
Congrats to both companies for focusing on the wellbeing of their employees! π
